David Rodrigues

Mandolin

David Rodrigues is a doctoral student in Artistic Studies at the University of Coimbra; Master in Music Education at the University of Aveiro in mandolin; Master in Music Education at the University of Minho in the area of Musical Sciences; Graduated in Music from the Escola Superior de Educação of Instituto Politécnico de Bragança. He teaches History of Culture and Arts and mandolin at the Vila Real Conservatory – Comendador Manuel Correia Botelho and bandolim teacher at the Escola de Música da Associação QUICNTOPIMPERIO; Diretor of QUICNTOPIMPERIO Association; Musician in duo Forma de Pêra, in the trio Che ChaBón, in the Portuguese Guitar and  Mandolin Orchestra and in the Soloist formation of the same orchestra. He is co-author of Lamego's Sonora Identities project; co-organizer of the Musicology Seminar of Conservatório Regional de Música de Vila Real; programmer of the “INSPIRA” project (Concerts Programming in Douro region – 2021), co-organizer and tutor in Foundos Nacionais of mandolin and guitar. He studied together with Professor António de Sousa Vieira and conducted Masterclasses with names such as Juan Carlos Muñoz, Annika Hinsche, Fernando Bustamante, Vincent Beer – Demander or Yasunobu Inoue. Highlights, in the artistic path, his participation in EGMYO 2021 (European Guitar and Mandolin Youth Orchestra); recording of the CD “Fernando C. Lapa | Songs on the other side of the street | OPGB Integral for guitar and mandolin orchestra”; his participation as soloist in the “ConTrasto” cycle, with Dedilhadas do Minho String Orchestra; or concert “O Sole Mio – Napolitanas” with “Camerata Lírica de España”; the concerts with the Portuguese guitar and mandolin Orchestra in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg; and the concerts with the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto - Casa da Música with programs by Sergei Prokofiev, Frank Zappa, Bernd Alois Zimmermann and Gustav Mahler, under the direction of Adrian Prabava, Olari Elts, Sylvain Cambreling and Stefan Blunier.
